Maui – Storm and Flashflood Warning

Maui is not your usual sunny place today. Not a good time to go to the beach. Not a good day to go hiking. It’s raining and windy and there’s a flashflood warning. The photo above is taken from our lanai (deck). I hear thunder and seen lighting. Oh, I wish we can just all stay home and sip hot cocoa today…

UPDATE:
I drove to work with almost zero visibility on the road. Pouring rain! Raining everywhere!

12 Days Of FISHmas at the Maui Ocean Center

Mele Kalikimaka! Dive into a holly jolly time at Maui Ocean Center and count down to the holidays with ‘The 12 Days of FISHmas‘.

For 12 fun-filled days, from December 14th to December 25th, activities and special holiday festivities will take place within the park including naturalist presentations, entertainment by school choir and band groups, holiday crafts for kids, food and drink specials, ornament sales, and even a visit from Scuba Claus himself in the Open Ocean Exhibit!

Visitors will enjoy a variety of entertainment including performances from Seabury Hall’s 7th Grade Choir and Band and 8th Grade Choir and Band, Pohaikealoha Hula Halau, and more throughout ‘The 12 Days of FISHmas’. Holiday-themed specials are on the menu in the award-winning Seascape Ma`alaea Restaurant and the Maui Ocean Center Store will offer a sensational 40% discount on all Christmas merchandise.

Naturalist presentations will put the spotlight on special marine animals including the Snowflake Eel, Candy Cane Shrimp, and Christmas Wrasse, whose distinctive holiday-themed names come from their exceptional appearance. Naturalists will also hand out candy cane treats to aquarium visitors before and after presentations.

Guests who visit Maui Ocean Center December 17th through 23rd are in for a unique treat! During this special week, the pelagic Open Ocean Exhibit will be visited by Scuba Claus himself as he joins the 11a.m. Dive Link presentation.
