Last NIght of The World

It’s 11:17 pm. I am supposed to be in bed, asleep, by now. Yet I know I had to write a blog post to tell you how fabulous Miss Saigon on Maui is, and that if any of you are still on the fence and not sure wether to go or not, I highly suggest you buy your tickets now because it’s worth it and it might sell out soon. The show is spectacular, emotion packed with excellent performance. My daughter went to see Miss Saigon Maui this afternoon and we were both well pleased along with the hundreds of people in the theatre who gave the show a standing ovation. Excellent production, kudos to all the cast and crew.

Fall of Saigon

I am assuming that by now you already know what Miss Saigon is about. In case you don’t, I highly suggest you read about it here on this Wikipedia page of  Miss Saigon. I know there are other articles about Miss Saigon on the internet, so yes, please Google about it if you still don’t know the story.

I knew about Miss Saigon way back in 1988/89 bck in the Philippines when Lea Salonga was discovered and chosen to play the role of Kim.  I bought the sound track and knows the lyrics to every song. Sang most of them a hundred times (ok, maybe less), of course mostly in the shower or when I am alone in the house.  However, I have never seen Miss Saigon in a live stage performance until today. It was truly a treat watching it live on stage. It was intense, I cried a lot, and in the end I am glad we we watched it.

I am not a critic and I won’t even try reviewing the performance of this Maui version of Miss Saigon as a critic would.  All I can say is  it is a must see. As the hashtag would say #MustWatch

I have many favorite songs and scenes in Miss Saigon and I want to share some of them with you … are these your favorites too? If not, which one is your favorite? I couldn’t find a video of the song “Movie in My Mind so I chose the Youtube version with just the logo and it’s original version playing in the background.

I was planning to write more about each song but it’s getting pretty late and I must log off. I hope you enjoy each video. Not the best quality video but it’s all that we got – just focus on Leah’s voice and it’ll be all right.  I am hoping these videos will motivate you to go and buy the tickets to the play (if you have not done already).
