Maui Fil-Am Heritage Festival

My weekend plan is to go to Maui Mall and participate in the Maui Fil-AM Heritage Festival. The Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation organized the Maui Fil-Am Heritage Festival  which will be held tomorrow,  Saturday, October 8, 2011 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  I am so looking forward to the fantastic Filipino food and desserts, great entertainment, a chance to win airfare to the Philippines courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines and Philippine Airlines.  Yes, I am dreaming of winning that round trip airfare to the Philippines!  There will also be a Filipino attire contest sponsored by Noble Travel (with the prize of airfare to Las Vegas), the Master P-Noy Chef Cook Off, a Speedy Balut eating contest, historical displays, and more!

The line-up of participating chefs for the Master P-noy Chef Cook Off are Chef Joey Macadangdang of Roy’s Kanaha restaurant, Chef Sheldon Simeon of Star Noodle and Chef Isaac Bancaco of Grand Wailea.  I think this is going to be so much fun! For more information, go to Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce website.

Blog Action Day 2011: FOOD

I was having a hard time getting into the groove of writing a post tonight.  This happens when I missed blogging the events and happenings I wanted to blog about (due to lack of time).  I kind of get overwhelmed. Part of me wants to catch up and still blog about it, and part of me says just let it go and move forward.

So what finally motivated me to move forward and write this post?  It’s the #BAD11.  It means “Blog Action Day 2011“.  I registered tonight.  I am officially in and all I have to do is to blog on October 16, 2011 about FOOD.  Yes, FOOOD!  I already have a great idea of what I am going to blog about.  Maui related of course! Blog Action Day is a powerful blog event online.  It started in 2007 and I participated on the first one. I am excited to participate again this year.  If you’re interested to find out more about it, go to the Blog Action day official website.
